Burns and Roe is acknowledged for its accomplishments in the engineering, design and construction of combustion turbine generating stations. We have significant experience in combustion turbine technologies from both the technology and environmental perspectives. The Company affords both domestic and international technical support services to utilities and private power development companies who pursue new power projects or the upgrade of current assets. Our activities encompass the entire spectrum of technical and project management services, from project onset through start-up and operation. This vast experience base includes planning, project financing, due diligence, technical and economic studies, cost estimating, site selection, engineering, design, procurement, scheduling, logistics support, construction supervision and management, quality assurance, owner's engineering, start-up and testing, operator recruitment and training, technical manual preparation, and plant maintenance and operation.  On many of these projects, Burns and Roe’s responsibilities have expanded to include the ancillary activities vital to developing power projects. These include site selection studies, environmental impact studies, operations and maintenance plans, environmental permitting, financing, and licensing support services.
