Mr. Ferrer will serve as a panelist in a discussion entitled Current Project Execution Trends and Strategies. This discussion includes the challenges of today’s dynamic market; labor shortages, commodity and equipment price escalation, productivity, availability of contractors, contractor risk allocation and construction execution methods. Mr. Ferrer has over 35 years of professional experience in the power industry. As Vice president of Burns and Roe’s Consulting Division, he is responsible for all the consulting services Burns and Roe provides to its clients including Owner’s Engineering, Independent Engineering, due diligence, acquisition services, power plant performance improvement, technology evaluations and applications, CO2 strategies, operational risk management, air emissions control retrofits, upgrades and life extension, covering nuclear, coal, gas and combined cycle, biomass, geothermal, solar, wind, IGCC, circulating fluid bed, renewables such as solar, wind and biomass, and other power plant generation technologies.
As part of the Emerging and Renewable Technologies Track, Mr. Keller will present a paper, Minimizing Instrumentation and Control Costs for Concentrated Solar Power Projects. Mr. Keller is a Professional Engineer with over 30 years experience in the area of instrumentation and controls. He offers an unusual combination of technical knowledge and hands-on experience. Mr. Keller successfully implemented over thirty distributed control systems, including those from such vendors as Bailey, Leeds & Northrop, Moore Products, Westinghouse and Yokogawa. He has saved clients substantial amounts of fuel and associated costs by optimizing DCS control systems.
Mr. Kishinevsky will be presenting a paper entitled Emission Performance of Modern CFB Boilers co-authored by Aku Rainio. This paper is part of the Update of CFB Applications and Developments Session. Mr. Kishinevsky is Burns and Roe’s Director, Advanced Energy Technologies, Power Consulting Division. With over 30 years experience, his professional career includes development and implementation of advanced fossil generation technologies and air quality control systems, coal and biomass gasification, CO2 sequestration, desalination, fuel cells, renewables, and other clean generation technologies, independent engineering and due diligence.
