Burns and Roe

Company's services extend from consultation and studies,
preliminary engineering, detailed engineering and design, procurement, and construction management, to testing, start-up, commissioning,
and follow-up support services.
Burns and Roe provides the full spectrum of planning, design,
and construction services necessary to implement new systems
and to upgrade existing facilities. Our Company's work involves
a broad range of activities, including condition assessment;
feasibility studies; energy conservation and management;
cogeneration and combined heat and power evaluation and design; utility master planning;
heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), boiler,
and chiller plant engineering and construction; and facility
rehabilitation.

Services
Burns and Roe combines technology, innovation, experience,
and an abiding commitment to teamwork in meeting the needs
of our clients in the manufacturing and processing industries.
We provide full-service engineering, construction, operations,
and maintenance support to clients in the general manufacturing,
pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology sectors, as well
as to petrochemical and oil companies. Our total support
of industrial facilities allows our customers to focus on
their core competencies.
Burns and Roe tailors its support to meet our customers'
needs. Engineers, planners, and managers are provided in
well-coordinated teams to investigate and analyze all aspects
of operational concerns. On-site condition appraisals are
merged with financial analyses, laboratory test results,
theoretical calculations, and actual measurements. We have
worked on building and utility system retrofit programs
for single and multiple sites. We understand the infrastructure
needs of individual buildings, major research and development
campuses, and large manufacturing facilities.
The Company performs design and construction management
services for schools, colleges, and
universities, hospitals, and for mass transit and urban
transportation projects such as bus depots, maintenance
shops, subway and elevated stations, airports, and other
facility-related projects. We have performed numerous studies
and projects, both for facility-related and infrastructure
support systems, and for numerous federal, state, and local agencies
and private clients.
Burns and Roe's project experience has
ranged from utility, central heating and chiller plant upgrades
to designing small cogeneration facilities that supply electricity
and heat to
surrounding campus buildings. Past projects include energy
conservation studies and design implementation for 19 City
University of New York college campuses; design and construction
management for various facilities of the University of
Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; and engineering, design,
procurement, and construction
support services for new cogeneration facilities at Princeton,
Rutgers, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of
New Jersey. Our work includes engineering design services for the historic Washington
Hall and the Superintendent's Quarters at the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point.
Energy Services
Burns and Roe is a leading provider of energy services throughout all the markets we serve. These services include energy conservation, efficiency improvements, utility upgrades, new thermal facilities (steam and chilled water), combined heat and power schemes, and cogeneration alternative analyses. Burns and Roe has LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified engineers on staff to ensure compliance with Green Building and Sustainable Design standards and practices.
