2003 DOE 'Showcase Plant' Baytown Energy Center


 


The Burns and Roe designed Baytown Energy Center was named a 'Showcase Plant' at a Department of Energy sponsored Technology Conference. The plant features advanced emission control technology as it generates 700 MW of clean, efficient power.

2001 Historical Preservation
Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award


Burns and Roe’s project, The Strecker Laboratory, received the prestigious Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy. The project also received the Design and Honor Award from the New York Council of American Registered Architects. The project included extensive restoration and adaptive reuse of a century-old landmark building.

The U.S. Department of Energy selected the Accelerator Production of Tritium (APT) program as the winner of the 2000 Major Systems Project Award for Excellence in Program and Project Management.

The Trojan Reactor Vessel Removal Project won the prestigious 2000 Project of the Year Award from the Project Management Institute. The award recognizes superior performance and exemplary project management.

Proactive Engineering Success Award


 


Burns and Roe was awarded the Proactive Engineering Success Award for Best Enterprise-wide Collaboration by Bentley Corporation in the fall of 1999. This award was a result of Burns and Roe’s commitment to innovative web-based engineering applications.

 


1999 Navy-Operated Aerial Port Unit of the Year


 


Our Air Operations Support at U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay contributed to the base being named the Navy-Operated Aerial Port Unit of the Year in 1999 by the U.S. Air Mobility Command.
